This is a USB to USB isolator with an included isolated power supply, supporting USB 2.0 at 1.5Mbps and full speed 12Mbps. When a PC and an external device (such as a radio's CAT interface or a sound card) share a USB connection, their grounds are also tied together - this can create ground loops that inject hum or RF noise into audio and control lines.
This isolator breaks that direct connection: it passes USB data and power across an isolation barrier without a shared ground, blocking common-mode noise and protecting both sides from voltage differences between them.
