This is a simple USB sound card for hobby use and for connecting to a TRX. Thanks to its SPDIF optical ports, some TRXs can be connected with a fiber optic cable to achieve perfect galvanic isolation between the radio and the PC — eliminating the ground loops that plague many digi mode setups. The C-Media CM6206 is a cheap and solidly performing audio codec chip supporting 16-bit/48kHz audio, with 7 input/output ports in total. This sound card is suitable not only for TRX use, but also for audio equipment measurement purposes. Use it as a USB audio card, for TRX and digi mode work, for audio measurements, or with musical instruments.
